CBE/Ernst & Young Manager Workshop

Organizations face difficult challenges in creating long-term value in an ever increasing real-time global marketplace. Organizational leaders utilize effective risk optimization and stakeholder accountability to create long-term value in this environment.

The Center for Business Excellence (CBE) at the Farmer School of Business was established to help organizations create long-term value by integrating these three drivers of risk optimization and stakeholder accountability.

The CBE is holding its Inaugural Manager Workshop at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio beginning with a dinner on December 12, followed by a two-day hands-on workshop on December 13 and 14. The Manager Workshop is being sponsored by Ernst & Young because of the Firm’s long commitment to helping organizations improve corporate governance, risk management, and transparent reporting. As Miami University’s largest employer of graduates, Ernst & Young is an important partner of the CBE.

All Conference activities, occurring on Wednesday evening (December 12, 2007) and Thursday and Friday (December 13 and 14, 2007), will take place at Miami University’s Marcum Conference Center & Inn, which is located on North Patterson on the northeast side of campus in Oxford, Ohio. Joining the managers for the Wednesday dinner will be 40 Masters of Accountancy students who will have just completed the first of a two-course sequence on governance, risk management, and reporting led by the CBE co-directors.

The registration fee for the CBE/Ernst & Young Manager Workshop is $900 per attendee. The registration fee covers all conference materials and food and beverages, including dinner on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and breakfast, lunch and snacks on Thursday and Friday. Because space is limited, refunds are only available until December 1; however, organizations are allowed to substitute different managers should a registrant not be able to attend. No advanced preparation for this seminar is necessary.
