The Chairman and CEO of Nestle USA will share his perspectives on how highly regarded business leaders face strategic issues in leading a major corporation and how they make decisions that affect their company, their employees, and the bottom line. Brad Alford will speak to an audience of students and faculty members Tuesday, November 3 in the David R. Taylor Auditorium at 6:00 p.m. It is open to the public free of charge

In nearly three decades with Nestle, USA, Brad Alford has held a series of key positions leading up to his current role as Chairman and CEO of Nestle USA. The company, a unit of Swiss enterprise Nestle, SA, has more than $9 billion in sales.

Alford’s professional experience in the food industry began when he joined Carnation Company as a sales trainee in 1980. After Nestle S.A. acquired Carnation in 1985, Alford continued to serve in various marketing positions before transferring to Nestle Australia in 1989 to head sales and marketing for the Friskies PetCare Division.

In 1995 Alford rejoined Nestle Food Services as executive vice president and was named president the following year. In this position he was responsible for the division’s food service and industrial businesses. He was chosen to head Nestle Brands Company in 2003 and was named to his current position in October, 2006.

A Native of Cincinnati, Alford earned a Bachelor of Science in business at Miami in 1978 and an MBA from Indiana University in 1980.
