In addition to awards and scholarships administered through the Graduate School and the School of Business, U.S. citizens and permanent residents may also qualify for Federal Direct Loans.
To be considered for a Federal Direct Loan, prospective students must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. For priority consideration, the FAFSA should be submitted as soon after January 1 as possible.
Students may also qualify for private loan funding which is based on credit. Students holding graduate assistantships are advised to check with the Office of Student Financial Assistance before contacting private lenders, because they may not have eligibility for additional funds.
For complete information on these loan programs, contact:

Additional information on potential sources for financial assistance is available in the MAcc Program office.
Financial awards are highly competitive. To be considered for a fellowship or graduate assistantship, your completed application must be received by November 1 (international students) and January 1 (domestic students).
Deciding to pursue a graduate degree is an investment in your future. While it may be costly to pursue in the short term, we firmly believe you will reap the rewards of your investment as you progress through your career. We offer a number of financial awards to qualified students to help defray the cost of your graduate program.
Fellowship and Graduate Assistantships
The Department of Accountancy awards merit-based graduate assistantships to its strongest admitted students.
All admitted applicants to the MAcc program will be considered for either the fellowship or one of the assistantships. You DO NOT need to complete the application for financial award form as mentioned on the Graduate School's Web site.
Graduate Grants-in-Aid
Graduate Grants-in-Aid waive the cost of tuition, but do not include a stipend and carry no work requirements. The deadline to apply is March 1, but we recommend you apply as early as possible. Application forms are available from the Graduate School office. International students are automatically considered for graduate grants-in-aid; no separate application is required.
Scholarships
The Department of Accountancy
awards many different scholarships from funds provided
by alumni, firms/corporations, and friends of the department.
These scholarships are awarded to students based on
merit and/or demonstrated financial need. Again, all applicants to the MAcc program will be considered for our scholarships. You DO NOT need to complete the
application for financial award form as mentioned on the Graduate School's Web site.
Diversity Enhancement Program (DEP) Assistantships
Admitted students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and can add to the diversity of the overall Graduate School may be eligible for DEP assistantships. The awards offer the same benefits and require the same responsibilities as the modified graduate assistantships. The Department of Accountancy will nominate qualified students for these awards; no separate application is required.
