The MAcc program requires 18 semester hours of accountancy courses and 12 semester hours of non-accountancy courses, totaling 30 semester hours. Our program is designed for full-time students and can usually be completed in one year by students with a baccalaureate degree in accounting. The program can occasionally accommodate students with undergraduate degrees in other disciplines, but an additional semester or more may be necessary to complete the required prerequisites.
Our new 10-month program is "lock-step" with all students taking the same set of courses. To complete the program, all students will take 12 credit hours during each of the fall and spring semesters, and 6 credits in the summer. Beginning with the 2007-08 academic year, all students will start the program in the fall and complete it the following summer (late June).
Please keep in mind that graduate students must maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 overall and in their accountancy coursework. A graduate student whose cumulative GPA falls below 3.0 will be placed on probation.
