Decision Sciences Minor Requirements

The minor in Decision Sciences is designed to give students, who major in other business disciplines, a strong background in statistical and quantitative methods. Individualized programs are designed so that the DCS minor can best supplement the students' particular majors.

Courses

Here are the MIS minor requirements for students who entered Miami beginning First Semester 2008-2009

All of the following:

  • MTH 151 (5) Calculus I
  • DSC 205 (4) Business Statistics (pre-req MTH 151)
  • DSC 291 (3) Applied Regression Analysis in Business (pre-req DSC 205)
  • DSC 321 (3) Quantitative Analysis of Business Problems (pre-req DSC 205)

At least 3 credit hours to be taken from the following:

  • DSC 331 (3) Quantitative Methods of Decision-Making (pre-req DSC 205)
  • DSC 333 (3) Nonparametic Methods in Business (pre-req DSC 205)
  • DSC 365 (3) Statistical Quality Control (pre-req DSC 205)
