Thematic Sequence

On January 18, 2006 the Finance Department voted to delete the FIN2 and FIN3 thematic sequences. Any student currently enrolled in the sequences will be able to complete them.

The department also voted to limit access to the Risk Management and Insurance Minor and the Finance Minor to non-business majors only. If a student has two majors, one in and one out of the School of Business, the minor is not available to them.  Any student already registered for a Minor will be able to complete it.

These two measures will be implemented immediately.

Please note: You must visit our office and register your thematic sequence.

Law and Commerce Thematic Sequence

Law and Commerce Thematic Sequence provides a survey of legal theory, legal history, and legal institutions as they relate to American culture, society, and business. The sequence focuses on providing the student with an understanding of why and how "American Law" developed; how and why it is applied; how and why the law is evolving; and how and why it impacts commerce. Students will use critical thinking skills in applying legal principles to analyze, identify, and solve legal problems arising in the every-day life of common business activity. The courses will also emphasize in-depth study of legal rules, rationale, and application in substantive areas of law and commerce. This sequence will also acquaint the potential law student with legal thinking and concepts.
