Institute for Entrepreneurship

The Miami University Institute for Entrepreneurship is dedicated to helping our students discover and exploit their own entrepreneurial mindset, from the recognition of an opportunity to the execution of a great idea.

The Institute consists of three centers:

  • Page Center for Entrepreneurial Studies
  • Center for Social Entrepreneurship
  • Center for an Entrepreneurial Economy (newly created)

Recognizing the importance of inter-generational learning through knowledge transfer and mentoring, the Institute exposes students to successful entrepreneurs through guest lectures and involvement with alumni.

Center for Social Entrepreneurship: first of its kind at the undergraduate level and includes classroom research, a broad research agenda, and opportunities for students to create and run social ventures.

Center for an Entrepreneurial Economy: focuses on the impact of public policy on the entrepreneurial climate, as well as support to students, staff, and residents with entrepreneurial aspirations. This new center is viewed as an economic development asset for the region and the State of Ohio, in accordance with its desire to increase the attractiveness of Ohio as a place to start and grow business.

We view our program as if it were an entrepreneurial venture, and therefore believe we have identified the opportunity, built the team, and assembled the resources to become the premier undergraduate program in the United States.

Announcements:

  • Entrepreneur Magazine and Princeton Review rank program as 15th best school for undergraduate entrepreneurs in the country
  • The Institute co-listed three of its courses with other Miami schools, including the Western College program, Engineering school, Interactive Media Studies program, and College of Arts and Sciences to enhance interdisciplinary, peer to peer learning
