OXFORD, Ohio — In Business Week’s second annual survey of the nation’s best undergraduate business programs, Miami’s Farmer School of Business was ranked 35th, the best showing of any Ohio university. Its program also ranked 13th nationally among those offered by public universities and colleges.
Coming in just behind undergraduate business programs at the University of Maryland, Rutgers, Babson and Fordham, the Farmer School ranked ahead of programs at Ohio State University (41), Ohio University (62), Case Western University (52) and the University of Cincinnati (79).
Business Week publishes indexes of schools based on other factors. On a calculation of “Return on Investment,” in which a graduate’s average starting salary is divided by the annual cost of tuition, Miami’s Farmer School scored 20th. In “Cracking the Books,” a barometer of how many hours per week the typical business student spends studying, the Farmer School ranked 14th.
“We are pleased to be among distinguished company in the Business Week assessments this year,” said Farmer School Dean Roger L. Jenkins. “Ultimately, the rankings are most valuable to us in the feedback we get from those surveyed, and use that information as we make steady progress with our strategic initiatives.”
Miami University’s Farmer School of Business consists of six academic departments, several centers, and a wide variety of co-curricular organizations and programs.
