Steven Davis, who as Chairman and CEO has helped boost sales at Bob Evans Farms, Inc., will talk about leadership and innovation in a Jan. 30 lecture at Miami University. His appearance is part of the Executive Speaker Series presented by the Farmer School of Business.
The talk, which is free of charge and open to the public, will begin at 4 p.m. at Hall Auditorium on the Miami University campus in Oxford.
Davis joined Bob Evans Farms in 2006, at a time when the iconic Columbus-based restaurant chain’s market share was under pressure. Under his leadership, the company has increased its revenues and diversified its product line.
Formerly, Davis was at Yum! Brands, where most recently he was president of Long John Silver’s and A&W All American Food Restaurants. He came to Yum! in 1993 and worked in marketing and concept development for its Pizza Hut division.
From the mid-1980s until 1993, Davis was with Kraft General Foods, beginning as a brand manager in Kraft’s cheese business. He developed several successful new products and marketing campaigns and ultimately became director of marketing for Kraft’s All American Gourmet unit.
In 2005, Black Enterprise magazine named Steven Davis one of the 75 Most Powerful Black Men in American Business.
