OXFORD, Ohio — In Business Week’s third annual survey of the nation’s best undergraduate business programs, Miami’s Farmer School of Business was ranked 24th. Its program also ranked 8th nationally among those offered by public universities and colleges.
In addition to being in the nation's top 5 percent, the Farmer School was the only Ohio institution in the top 25 and one of only two Ohio institutions in the top 50.Recruiters ranked the school 10th overall in terms of the desirability of its graduates.
“Rankings are a reality and increasingly viewed as important by prospective students, faculty, and employers," said Farmer School Dean Roger L. Jenkins. “This year we moved significantly higher in the Business Week survey, which measures many aspects of the educational experience such as quality of teaching, student satisfaction, recruiter satisfaction, number of hours students spend studying, quality of facilities and services, and student-faculty ratio. Ultimately, though, what is most valuable to us in the rankings process is the feedback we get from those surveyed: our students and the recruiters who hire our graduates."
Jenkins added that the Farmer School's presence in the top 25 was due to the hard work and entrepreneurial spirit of its faculty and staff, as well as to the School's commitment to excellence in teaching.
“Continuous improvement has become a key part of our culture," he said."We also have outstanding support from our alumni and business partners, who share our vision and have invested their time, talent and treasure in helping us move ‘from good to great.’”
