Three longtime members of the Farmer School of Business faculty have been recognized with appointments to named positions within the school.
William Even, professor of economics, has been named the Raymond E. Glos Professor of Business. Byron Finch, professor of management, is now the George and Mildred Panuska Professor of Business Administration. Timothy Krehbiel, professor of Decision Sciences and Management Information Systems, will add the title of Michael and Jane Endres Faculty Fellow.
“I am genuinely pleased, and indeed very proud, to announce these appointments that recognize the accomplishments of three of our distinguished senior faculty members,” said Dean Roger L. Jenkins. “All three epitomize our steadfast commitment to the faculty exemplar of outstanding teacher-scholars.”
Even joined Miami’s economics faculty in 1983 as a visiting assistant professor while he completed work on his Ph.D. in economics at the University of Iowa. He became a full professor in 1995 and holds fellowships with two research institutions. His areas of specialty include labor economics, pension economics, and econometrics. In 2007, Even was given the Farmer School Faculty Award for Research Excellence.
Finch, a member of the FSB faculty since 1987, earned his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia. He became a full professor in 1996 and has helped develop the school’s supply chain management programs, developing specialties in supply chain-related issues as well as in online auction seller performance and service quality in online transactions. Finch has twice been nominated for the Associated Student Government Outstanding Professor Award.
Krehbiel joined the Miami University faculty in 1990, after earning his Ph.D. in statistics from the University of Wyoming. He was made a full professor in 2001 and has earned a variety of teaching honors, including the Farmer School’s Teaching Effectiveness Award and the MBA Teaching Excellence Award. His areas of interest are process analysis and improvement and statistical quality control.
Serving on the committee to review candidates for these three named professorships were Senior Associate Dean Raymond Gorman, Professor Norman Miller (economics) and Professor Marc Rubin (accountancy).
