Energy is the topic when Michael Morris, chairman and CEO of American Electric Power Co., Inc., speaks on campus at 4 p.m. Feb. 2.
Morris will give a short talk, “Energy: the environment and economy. Can we find a balance?” In discussing the energy industry today, he will talk about how he addresses challenging issues in which stakeholder interests do not align – and, in fact, are often in direct conflict.
After his remarks, Morris will open the floor for questions during the hour-long session, which takes place in Hall Auditorium. The program is sponsored by the Farmer School of Business and its Center for Business Excellence.
The event, part of the Farmer School's Executive Speaker Series, is free of charge and open to the public.
Morris has built a significant career in the energy industry. He was the founder and president of ANR Gathering Company, one of the first gas marketing companies in the United States, and subsequently held leadership positions at a variety of utilities enterprises.
