News
04/09/2009 16:17Miami’s new Professional MBA program got off to a strong start this semester, exemplified by the size and quality of the inaugural class. Noteworthy features of the class include:
- Size: the program exceeded its recruiting goal of 30, enrolling 33 professionals;
- Average experience: students’ average work experience is 10 years, well above the level typically found in an evening MBA program;
- Functional background: Essentially every key aspect of a business organization is represented in the class, from supply chain operations to finance to engineering to information technology;
- Employers: students are employed by 24 different companies, from global giants to small-scale family enterprises.
“This first class resulted from a very competitive admissions process. Members have shown themselves equal to our challenging curriculum from day one,” said C. Brad Bays, MBA programs director.
The Farmer School has assembled a strong faculty to teach the first year courses, with recognized experts in accounting, economics, finance, marketing, supply chain operations, and management.
Quality of the facility is outstanding as well. The Professional MBA program is presented at Miami’s Voice of America Learning Center in West Chester Township, located in the fast-growing northern Cincinnati suburbs. Equipped with the latest technology and adaptable to both instructor-led and small group sessions, the VOALC is ideal for interactive adult learning.
“We knew that there would be significant demand for a professional MBA program from Miami,” said Farmer School Dean Roger L. Jenkins. “In developing the vision and curriculum, and identifying resources available for this program, our goal was to deliver a world-class educational experience.”
