Gillian Oakenfull, Director of Experiential Learning and Associate Professor of Marketing, has been honored for excellence in teaching by the Academy of Marketing Science. Dr. Oakenfull will receive the organization’s Outstanding Marketing Teacher Award at the AMS annual conference, to be held in May in New Orleans, La.
Dr. Oakenfull was one of three recipients of the award. As a winner, she will participate in a special session at the conference explaining her teaching philosophy and approach. In addition to leading the experiential learning for the marketing department, Dr. Oakenfull serves as leader of the Strategy Works program, a fully integrated marketing experience in which teams of students take on real-world business challenges for major companies. She also supervises the marketing capstone HighWire Brand Studio which involves students in creating branding programs for clients.
