Students and faculty members were in the spotlight at the 2012 Farmer School Divisional Recognition Ceremony on Sunday, May 6. Over 900 Farmer School students were joined by families and friends at Millett Auditorium for the 2 p.m. ceremony.
This year’s student address was delivered by Pavel Gurevich, Finance and Supply Chain and Operations Management majors. Gurevich graduated Magna Cum Laude, with University Honors and Business Honors. His remarks focused on how Miami University and the Farmer School were his representation of the American dream.
David Calhoun, Chief Executive Officer of The Nielsen Company, delivered the commencement address. He encouraged the graduates to continue grow intellectually, to tackle the toughest challenges, to build their global perspectives, and to protect always their personal integrity.
Five members of the Farmer School faculty received teaching excellence awards: Dr. Tim Greenlee, Dr. Terry Nixon, Dr. Bryan Ashenbaum, Dr. Tom Boulton and Mr. Mark Lacker. Also recognized were Dr. Lisa Ellram and Dr. Peng Wang for their outstanding research.
