Management professors Josh Schwarz and Rebecca Luzadis are among the recipients of a $34,700 grant from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center to study the cultural competency of its staff.
The project, “Measuring and Improving the Cultural Competence of Pediatric Health Care Providers” focuses on cultural competency among physicians, nurses, and other clinicians at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. The team is developing and measuring the efficacy of tools designed to increase cultural competency levels.
Other members of the Miami University research team include Raymond Witte, Associate Professor of School Psychology; Judith Weiner, Assistant Professor of Communication; and Sherrill Sellers, Associate Professor of Family Studies and Social Work.
The 2012 U.S. News and World Report ranks Children’s Hospital as one of the top pediatric hospitals in the nation.
