Nationally recognized as one of the most outstanding public undergraduate institutions, Miami gives undergraduates many opportunities to work with senior faculty on research projects and to participate in international programs. The business program gives students a broad background in all business disciplines. The Farmer School of Business offers 8 majors and 13 minors. Each program of study is housed within six academic departments.
Miami University's undergraduate admissions department is located in the Campus Activities Building (CAB), 301 South Campus Ave.
For acceptance into the Farmer School of Business, students must successfully complete the computer skills exam. The exam focuses on a student's skills with Microsoft Excel and Access.
For students already accepted into the Business School, the Honors Program offers a unique, rigorous, and challenging academic experience to a select group of business students. The program offers accelerated curricula, independent research opportunitites, and individual mentoring experiences with faculty.
The Farmer School's basic graduation requirements prepare students for positions in business, government, and other complex organizations. More than 151,000 Miami alumni are located around the globe, serving as professional and community leaders. Acceptance into the Business School is based on a student's fulfillment of specific requirements.
All entering freshmen, admitted to the School of Business as "pre-business" majors, will advance to regular business standing upon successful completion of all adminission requirements:
Students admitted to and participating in the School of Business Honors Program, are afforded regular business standing upon initial enrollment.
A transfer student may directly enter the School of Business by meeting the following list of requirements:
Transfer students may also enter the University as an undecided student and pursue admission to the Farmer School of Business through completion of the intra-university transfer requirements.
Submitting a portfolio allows a pre-major or transfer student an opportunity for special consideration into the Farmer School of Business. A student may submit one portfolio for the selection committee to review. The minimum cumulative grade point average to submit a portfolio is 2.6.
The selection committee will consider all portfolio applicants, make selections, and notify the students of the decision. Portfolio acceptance and placement into the School of Business is on a "space available" basis.
