Minor in Entrepreneurship
The Entrepreneurship Minor provides students with a cross-disciplinary exposure to the nature and role of entrepreneurship in new ventures and established organizations, including both private and public sector organizations. The minor is open to both business and non-business students. Emphasis is placed on exploring ways in which individuals and teams identify opportunities, develop successful innovations, and achieve sustainable growth.
Program Requirements:
- Take 18 hours total
- Successfully complete all of the following (12 hours):
- ESP 366: Imagination and Entrepreneurship
- one of the following:
- ESP 461: Small Emerging Enterprise Consulting (3)*
- ESP 467: Entrepreneurship: New Ventures (3)*
- ESP/FIN 306: Financial Aspects of Entrepreneurial Ventures (3)
- ESP/MKT 311: Marketing and Entrepreneurship (3)
- Successfully complete two of the following (6 hours):
- BLS 342: Legal Environment of Business (3)
- ESP 461: Small Emerging Enterprise Consulting (3)* if not used above
- ESP 464: Social Entrepreneurship (3)*
- ESP 467: Entrepreneurship: New Ventures (3) if not used above
- ESP/MGT 469: Entrepreneurship in Complex Organizations (3)
- ESP 477: Independent Study (up to 3 hours)
- ESP 481: Product Planning, Technology, Innovations (3)
- ESP 490: Special Topics in Entrepreneurship (up to 3 hours)
- IMS 333: New Economy: eBusiness, Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital (3)
*This course satisfies the Miami Plan Capstone Experience Course.
