Skills Exams

Beginning First Semester 2008-2009 students preparing for MIS 235 should complete CSA 148

The School of Business skills requirement may also be met by successful completion of
CSA 141, CSA 154, or BTE 181.

Attention: You cannot take the exam if you are enrolled in CSA 141, CSA 154 or BTE 181.

The exam is based on Microsoft Excel and Access. To prepare for this exam, you may use the Miami University tutorials. Review topics in Excel and Access to prepare for your exam.  Once you have logged in, navigate to the following sections:

  1. Select "Browse courses" at the top
  2. Select "IT End -User Curricula"
  3. Select "Microsoft Office 2007"
  4. Finally, select Access or Excel and follow the instructions
  5. You should be proficient through the advanced lessons on each

The exam is based on Microsoft Excel 2007 and Access 2007.

When you believe you are ready, you will be able to take the School of Business Technology exam.

Your +banner number and Miami University ID card will be required to take the exam. You only have one chance to retake any exam or you fail. Please allow 3 - 5 days for your exam to be graded and then posted on this site.
