A graduate of Miami University, Mr. Rodgers was among those in the forefront of making IBM the technology giant it is today. He began with the firm in 1950 as a sales trainee and progressed to President of U.S. operations and, eventually, to Vice President of sales and marketing. Mr. Rodgers has obtained three honorary doctorate degrees, acquired from Miami University, Mt. Union, and Hartwick, signifying his appreciation of continuous education.
Today, Mr. Rodgers is both a prominent author and motivational speaker, publishing best-selling books The IBM Way and Getting the Best Out of Yourself and Others. He has lectured on numerous college campuses and was recognized by USA Today as one of the top five most requested speakers. Mr. Rodgers has served on nine corporate boards and three university councils, exemplifying his ability to transform organizations in a changing world.
An avid tennis player and scratch golfer, Mr. Rodgers recognizes the value of a balanced lifestyle through his long time devotions to his wife Helen of fifty-four years and a lifetime of loving involvement with his three children and seven grandchildren.
