The Howe Writing Initiative is a collaborative project between Miami University's Department of English and the Farmer School of Business, designed to enhance the quality of student writing in the School of Business. The HWI assists both FSB professors in the teaching of writing and FSB students in the improvement of their writing skills.

On November 13, the Howe Writing Initiative conducted a faculty workshop with tips to enhance PowerPoint presentations through simple but effective design practices. As part of the workshop materials, the HWI created five PowerPoint templates based on Miami University's style guide including Miami colors and Miami and FSB logos, which instructors and students can use for their own presentations. The following materials from the workshop, while geared to instructors and teaching, provide design principles useful for any PowerPoint presentation by students, staff, or faculty. Please feel free to make use of them!
