• Editing Example: The HWI revised the following “reaction paper,” written in an introductory core FSB course, to make it tighter and more readable. As you read the two versions, notice that we did NOT change the original meaning; but, with simple editing, we were able to convey the same meaning in just about half the words. The edited version more closely resembles the tight, concise writing that businesses value.

The HWI can assist FSB faculty interested in incorporating writing assignments into their curricula in a number of ways. We can observe classes and make suggestions for writing assignments based on course content, meet with faculty individually to discuss existing writing assignments, present course-specific writing information to classes, meet with faculty to discuss the grading of writing assignments, and much more. While we welcome faculty members to stop by our office, we also suggest making appointments to meet with us so we can prepare for your visit.
