Study Abroad Airfare Grant

Eligible Oxford undergraduate students with financial need may receive a university grant up to $600 for their study abroad airline ticket and could receive the remainder of their ticket price in an interest free university loan.

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program

The Gilman International Scholarship Program offers a competition for awards for undergraduate study abroad. This scholarship provides awards for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving federal Pell Grant funding at a 2-year or 4-year college or university to participate in study abroad programs worldwide.

John T. Petters Foundation Scholarships

The John T. Petters Foundation is an important link for college students in providing study abroad opportunities. This private foundation works to advance the educational opportunities of deserving students in need of financial aid for study abroad programs. Students applying to study abroad through Petters Global Learning or other programs are all encouraged to take advantage of this scholarship oppotunity.

The Freeman Awards for Study in ASIA (Freeman ASIA)

Freeman-ASIA is designed to support American undergraduates with demonstrated financial need who are planning to study overseas in East or Southeast Asia. Recipients are expected to share their experiences with their home campuses to encourage study abroad in Asia by others, and to spread greater understanding of Asian peoples and cultures within their home communities. Since the launch of the program in 2000, Freeman-ASIA has supported almost 4,000 U.S. undergraduates with their study abroad plans in East and Southeast Asia.

David L. Boren Scholarship

Boren Scholarships provide unique funding opportunities for U.S. undergraduate students to add an important international and language component to their educations. It focuses on geographic areas, languages, and fields of study that are critical to U.S. interests and underrepresented in study abroad.

Fulbright U.S. Student and Scholar Programs

Fulbright U.S. Student and Scholar Program is the largest international exchange program provider in the U.S. The program awarded approximately six thousand grants in 2007 to U.S. students, teachers, professionals, and scholars to study, teach, lecture, and conduct research in more than 155 countries, and to their foreign counterparts to engage in similar activities in the United States.

Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant

Awards of $1,000, available to students with 3.5+ GPA who have earned 30 to 90 credit hours, and are participating in an academic program at an accredited international university during the study abroad period. May apply through the Miami chapter of Phi Kappa Phi. Deadline: late October (spring) or mid-February (fall).

Salt and Zimmerman Scholarships

Available to undergraduate students who receive (or are eligible for) Pell Grants. Sponsored by the Western College Alumnae Association.

Tacky Scholarship

Available to undergraduate students who show financial need, and limited to students studying for a semester in Africa, Asia, Latin America or the Middle East. Sponsored by the Western College Alumnae Association.
