INTRODUCTION

Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU) was founded in 1924 by Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, known as the father of modern China. SYSU is famous for its foreign language program, and in 1980 established the nation's first Chinese as a Foreign Language (CFL) department to train teachers of Chinese. Miami is joining the ranks with other U.S. schools collaborating with Sun Yat-Sen including Princeton University and Columbia University. International students can choose from a variety of language and culture courses, as well as courses in the International MBA program, and undergraduate business courses.
