Travel Information
Passports
Check out the resources below to apply for a passport.
Visas
- Students are encouraged to use a visa service, and we have one locally (in Cincinnati) that has been very helpful and that offers a discount. Their website is Abriggs.com. You can find their Cincinnati address on the website, but it should not be necessary to visit their office as students can, if they wish, send their passport and paperwork to Briggs and they will take care of it from that point. Briggs offers a 20% discount for Miami Students. When you are ready to apply, please contact Felice Marcus and she will give you a username and password to use to get your discount.
- More visa information and news can be found on the website of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China if you wish to browse their web site. You should look at X and F Visas. If you get your visa through Abriggs you will not need to apply through or visit the Chinese Embassy.
American Embassies and Registration
The US department of State recommends you register your trip through their web site in order to allow them to assist you in the unlikely case of an emergency. To register online visit the Travel Registration website of the US Department of State.
