Focus on Students

Our commitment to undergraduate education really does make a difference: at Miami, our faculty is readily accessible to students, both in the classroom and around campus. Year after year, when we ask Farmer School graduates to name the most beneficial aspect of their program, they tell us it was their knowledgeable professors and the personal attention they received.

Employment Recruiters

Miami's national reputation attracts between 300 and 350 employers to campus each year. The Fortune 500 and Big Four accounting firms are well-represented in this group. More than 95 percent of Farmer School students secure full-time employment within six months of graduation or continue with full time graduate education. Career Services

Experiential Learning

Increasing numbers of courses within the Farmer School, such as the Human Metrics practicum, challenge students with real assignments from companies and organizations. Miami’s Highwire Brand Studio and Interactive Media Studies programs involve marketing majors in interdisciplinary teams that design programs or products for paying clients. And more than 20 student business organizations provide hands-on experiences as well as leadership growth opportunities for their members.Experiential Learning

International Programs

It is essential that tomorrow’s business leaders function knowledgeably and comfortably in the global marketplace. The school is increasing its emphasis on international study, through a variety of study abroad experiences as well as a strengthened international study component in the required curriculum. Through summer programs, semester exchanges, and the China Business program, approximately 25 percent of Farmer School undergraduates participate in learning opportunities in Europe, Latin America and Asia. An international consultancy is built into our accelerated MBA program, and there is an optional international component available at the conclusion of our Masters of Accountancy program.
